Two days of live cases, lectures and expert panels in structural heart and coronary intervention, with up to 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
Who should attend.
Interventional cardiologists, general cardiologists, electrophysiologists, internal medicine, family medicine and emergency medicine physicians, and fellows in training. Cath lab nurses and technologists are also welcome.
The program covers structural heart interventions on Friday and coronary interventions on Saturday, with live cases transmitted from Bayamón Heart and Lung Institute.
At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Select between TAVR and surgical valve replacement according to patient age and anatomy, including bicuspid valves and pure aortic regurgitation, and plan lifetime management after TAVR.
- Identify appropriate candidates for transcatheter edge-to-edge repair in secondary mitral regurgitation and tricuspid regurgitation.
- Describe current percutaneous options for pulmonary embolism, left atrial appendage occlusion, leadless pacing and mechanical circulatory support in heart failure.
- Apply calcium modification, drug-coated balloons, intravascular imaging and physiology to complex, chronic total occlusion and left main PCI.
- Recognize and manage cath lab complications, including coronary perforation, no-reflow, abrupt vessel closure and equipment entrapment.
- Implement evidence-based strategies in STEMI, including complete revascularization, anticoagulation selection and the early recognition and escalation of cardiogenic shock.
